Case Studies - our recruits
Silvia from Hunedora, Romania. Started in January 2015 – Nursing Home in Gosport.
Silvia is a qualified nurse and physiotherapist. She was self-employed in Henedoara, Romania but was seeking a career in the UK that could offer her opportunity to progress and secure her financial future. She was very nervous about the move to the UK but we supported her all the way and I think that she appreciated our guidance and honesty. She is now employed in Gosport, working in a nursing home and enjoying the English way of life. Silvia says that it is hard work but very rewarding to spend time with the residents. She is a great nurse, very enthusiastic and I am sure that she will be managing her own home in the future!
Olivia from Bacau, Romania. Started in February 2015 – Nursing Home in Poole.
Olivia qualified in 2013 but was unable to secure a job as a nurse in Romania. She had worked as a live in care worker in Italy so this had provided an important insight into giving personal care and helping people with their day to day living. She applied to Nurses Now in November, applied for her NMC PIN registration straightaway, was successful in her interview with a client in Poole, received her PIN in January and started work in February. Olivia needed lots of help with organising her documents and planning travel to the UK – she really appreciated our support and guidance. A young, recently qualified nurse who is now on her way to establishing her career as a nurse in the UK.
Grigore from Iasi, Romania. Started in March 2015 – Nursing Home in Doncaster.
Just qualified, Grigore was working as a volunteer nurse in Iasi, Romania. A very positive and flexible character, this helped him to win over a client in Doncaster in his SKYPE interview. He travelled to the UK several weeks ago, started work as a care worker in the Doncaster home whilst he waits for his NMC PIN – as soon as he receives his PIN he will then be paid as a nurse! It’s not just about the qualification and experience – employers are looking for people with the right attitude. Grigore is one of those.
Mariyana from Ruse, Bulgaria. Applied to Nurses Now last week.
Mariyana qualified in 2004 and is working as a Matron in Bulgaria. She was successful in her Nurses Now screening interview and is now going to be put forward for an interview with a UK employer. She is very experienced and wants to progress but recognises the limitations in her own countries health care system. She is also very keen to improve her family’s financial outlook. A fantastic opportunity for any Care Home to acquire a nurse of Mariyana’s professional calibre!
